Our story
It was during a bright summer night in Västerbotten, in the north of Sweden, that our founder Linnea Brännström lay awake nursing her newborn baby just like every other night at that time. But on this particular night, everything fell into place.
'…it can work… it must work.'
Some time earlier, Linnea had minted her first NFT of a real-world painting. As the sleepless nights in that harmonious state allowed her brain to quietly and calmly wander down unexplored paths where the connection between deep tech and real-world objects became clear, and an idea was born. The idea of a world with traceable things in a reliable way, for real.
If it could succeed, it would provide an opportunity for everyone—companies, consumers, public sector, and the financial sector—to not be misled by greenwashing or counterfeit products. Capital could be directed to the right purposes, and the global transition could accelerate.
The vision resulted in countless days of research and interviews. Everything pointed in the same direction. It can be done. And now the time has come.
The name OC: 'Original Creation' was a given, because every object is an original creation (let’s not dive into quantum physics) and has its own story to tell.
Shortly after Linnea founded OC, the EU Commission published a legislative package stipulating that all products manufactured and sold within the EU must carry a digital product passport. With all due respect to the companies that view this legislation as unattainable, we at OC believe that drastic measures are necessary to achieve a global transition. And our mission is to help companies get there.The team took shape, a management group with complementary personal qualities and skills, bringing the idea to life. A digital platform based on advanced technology was created, enabling the tracking of an object’s lifecycle, from raw material to recycling, with traceable information from verified sources.OC wants to contribute to the global transition, for real. And we do this by ensuring that every physical object, its components, and materials tell their unique story of origin, content, and climate footprint. A story with verified sources and permanent data.
